Top 5-Airline sends couple to wrong continent

DAKAR, Senegal, May 21 (UPI) -- A California couple taking a trip to Dakar, Senegal, said Turkish Airlines instead sent them nearly 7,000 miles off-course to Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sandy Valdivieso, 31, said she and her husband, Triet Vo, 39, were going to visit a former

colleague of hers in Dakar and realized a few hours after the second leg of their journey began in Istanbul, Turkey, that the plane was headed to Dhaka, in Asia, rather than the African city they intended to visit, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. The airline sent the couple back to Istanbul and on to Dakar free of charge. Valdivieso said the mix-up must have occurred when she bought her tickets. She said she and her husband didn't realize the airport code on the tickets, DAC, was for Dhaka. Valdivieso also said they thought the flight attendants were just speaking with accents when they announced the flight's intended destination.
Fatma Yuceler, general manager of Turkish Airlines' West Coast operations, apologized for the incident. "We are very, very sorry that this happened," she said. She said the couple will receive two free economy-class tickets to anywhere the carrier flies

A pair of donkeys will be put down after they chased down a pensioner on his motor scooter, dragged him off and killed him. Sandor Horvath, 65, a retired firefighter, was visiting a pal's farm in Magyarszecsod, Hungary, last week when he was attacked by killer donkeys Muki and Szamoca. The animals bit and trampled him to death after dragging him about 50 metres, according to Horsetalk.co.nz. Horvath was so badly mutilated he was missing a hand and it was originally thought he had been ravaged by a wolf pack. An autopsy determined the donkeys were responsible for killing Horvath, who lived in a nearby cottage. Police said the donkeys will be treated like dogs that kill and euthanized.

Top 2-Why City axes bra ban at historic Milwaukee

The owner of a Milwaukee bowling alley and bar who was recently told to remove hundreds of bras hanging from the ceiling due to it being a fire hazard has been allowed to put them back up, WTMJ-TV reports. Patrons began hanging their bras up in the bar 45 years ago, so it shocked the owner of the Holler House Tavern when a city inspector ordered them to be removed last month, Marcy Skowronski told the broadcaster. But after raising a stink with the alderman, city staff and the media, the city told Skowronski, 87, she could hang them back up. The 105-year-old tavern plans to have a party to re-hang the bras, Skowronski said. "The girls say 'do you realize how much I paid for this bra' and after a couple of drinks, it's hanging," Skowronski said.
