Top 5-Poutine-flavoured soda to hit Canada –What more…
That classic Quebecois dish of French fries, hot gravy and melted cheese curds will soon be available in drink form. Jones Soda is releasing a poutine-flavoured soda for a limited time in Canadian markets, the company announced this week. The new flavour
will be available in select regions across Canada, including Ontario, Vancouver and most notably Quebec, where the soda company has partnered with food chain Frite Alors. The poutine purveyor will offer combination deals for Jones soda, including the new poutine flavour. "With a nice balance of rich, savoury gravy over a starchy potato base, and accented with those fatty, cheesy notes you expect in a plate of poutine, we believe we've developed the perfect liquid version of this indisputably Canadian delicacy," Jones Soda marketing and social media manager Andrew Baumann said.

Top 4-Flight attendants banned from wearing red lipstick on Turkish Airlines
Turkey’s national airline has barred female flight attendants from wearing red lipstick and nail polish, striking a nerve among secular Turks worried the country is becoming more Islamic. Turkish Airlines, Europe’s fourth-biggest carrier, said the ban was aimed at keeping crews “artless and well-groomed with makeup in pastel tones”, as a natural look improved communication with passengers. “As a consequence of our current cabin
uniforms not including red, dark pink, et cetera, the use of lipstick and nail polish in these colours by our cabin crew impairs visual integrity,” the statement said. Turkish Airlines declined a request for further comment. The guideline follows other restrictions on employees’ appearance and on serving alcohol. Critics say they reflect the influence of the government’s conservative religious values at the fast-growing state-run airline, one of Turkey’s most recognized brands. “This new guideline is totally down to Turkish Airlines management’s desire to shape the company to fit its own political and ideological stance,” Atilay Aycin, president of the airline’s Hava-Is labour union, told Reuters. “No one can deny that Turkey has become a more conservative, religious country.” Turkey is 99% Muslim but the NATO state and European Union candidate has a secular constitution.

Top 3-Teacher Buys Student "Fifty Shades of Grey" for Reading Class
Philadelphia mother wants her son’s high school teacher fired after he bought the teen the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" for in-class reading. Maya Ladson says she was shocked to find a copy of the racy read in her 14-year-old’s book bag back on March 9. That shock turned to outrage when she found out how he got the book. The minute I found out about it, it raised concern,” the mother told NBC10.com Thursday. “This is not OK to me. This is major.” Ladson's son, who is a 9th grade student at Eastern University Academy Charter School in Philadelphia, asked for and was given the book by his teacher and adviser Philip Aidoo. According to the school, Aidoo asked students for a list of books they would like to read during an independent reading period. Ladson’s son’s requested "Fifty Shades of Grey." Aidoo then went online and ordered the book. Ladson acknowledges that her son asked for the book. “It clearly states on the cover, that the book is for mature audiences and has high sexual content,” Ladson said. “This was a 100-percent act of negligence. There should never be pornographic material purchased and distributed to a student by a school teacher.” Eastern University Academy Charter School Chief Operating Officer Yvonne Turner calls the teacher’s actions a mistake. “Unfortunately, Mr. Aidoo did not have an awareness of this popular book and ordered it with his own money,” she said. Turner says Aidoo also ordered books for other students, all of which were G-rated. “I find it highly unlikely that a teacher who teaches reading and has a classroom for sustained silent reading period is unaware of contents of material that he’s giving to the students, let alone the material being pornographic material,” Ladson told NBC10.com. Once Aidoo’s purchase was brought to the school’s attention by Ladson, officials immediately launched an investigation, according to Turner.

Top 2-Plea Deals Will Keep X-Rated Photos of NBA Coach Mark Jackson Under Wraps
The former stripper indicted for allegedly extorting Mark Jackson over naked photos the NBA coach sent to her has struck a deal with federal prosecutors to settle a pair of felony charges, records show. Alexis Adams, who was facing a May 3 trial date, has “reached an agreement in principle” to enter a pretrial diversion program that would allow the 29-year-old’s case to be “resolved short of trial,” according to a U.S. District Court filing. A stipulation signed by Adams’s lawyer and a federal prosecutor notes that Pretrial Services officials will evaluate Adams for acceptance into the diversion program, a process that takes at least 60 days. If a defendant--usually a first-time offender--successfully completes the diversion program, prosecutors will formally drop charges against them.
Last month, Adams’s codefendant, ex-con Marcus Shaw, pleaded guilty to charges that he conspired with Adams to shake down Jackson over the explicit images. Jackson shared the photos with Adams during the course of an extramarital affair about seven years ago, when Adams (pictured above) danced in a New York gentleman’s club and Jackson did commentary on New Jersey Nets TV broadcasts.
The photos given to Adams show the Golden State Warriors coach (and former NBA star) “without any clothing,” according to an FBI affidavit. Shaw, a convicted felon who spent several years in prison following a 1996 robbery conviction, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 25 in U.S. District Court in Oakland, California. Court records do not detail the nature of the relationship between the 41-year-old Shaw and fellow Atlanta resident Adams, a licensed esthetician who operates a nail salon.
The deals struck by Adams and Shaw surely come as a relief to Jackson, whose team leads the Denver Nuggets 3-1 in the opening round of the NBA playoffs. A trial in the so-called sextortion case would have included Jackson’s testimony about the six-figure shakedown plot, as well as the married father of four’s prior sexual relationship with Adams. Additionally, the naked photos of Jackson would have been marked as government exhibits and shown to jurors.
