A woman faces charges after a bizarre Canada Day confrontation in which she allegedly hit two people — including a child — with her car and then bit a cop as she tried to flee.
Thousands of people were leaving The Forks around 11:30 p.m. Monday after taking in the annual fireworks display when a woman driving a Pontiac Sunfire hit a plastic wagon with a young girl inside, police said. The child wasn't injured but the man pulling the girl became upset. A man who identified himself as the girl's uncle said they were at the end of a group of about 15 adults and kids when the car nearly hit the woman in front of him. Then the driver hit the wagon, he said. "She said that we had no right to cross in front of her car," he told QMI Agency Tuesday. "She was creeping into the intersection — we were at a crosswalk — to the point where she was hitting my knees and the wagon. She kept driving forward and I got rather aggressive. I started yelling at her. I hit the car a couple times telling her to stop. She wouldn't stop."

THE HAGUE - A Dutch woman kept her dead 83-year-old mother in the freezer for a week because she couldn't bring herself to say goodbye, police said on Wednesday. A family friend contacted police on Monday, saying they could "no longer live" with the secret of the body in the freezer. "There was no indication that the mother didn't die of natural causes, but the body has nevertheless been taken for an autopsy," Boot said.
The daughter was taken to the police station, interviewed and examined by a psychiatrist and allowed to return home. Police said the daughter was "too sad" to let her mother go. "She wanted to keep her nearby," Boot said. The two women had lived together for 17 years, during which time the daughter took care of her mother day and night "with lots of love," police said.

Catherine Kieu, 50, was convicted by an Orange County jury in April of aggravated mayhem and torture following the July 2011 assault on her ex-husband. Kieu drugged her former spouse before tying him up and severing his penis with a knife. She then threw it into the garbage disposal unit. An attorney for Vietnam-born Kieu argued at trial that she had suffered sexual abuse as a child which left her with post-traumatic stress. She was remorseful about the attack, he said. After the sentencing hearing, the victim - identified only as "Glen" - said he wished Orange County Superior Court Judge Richard Toohey could have given Kieu more time behind bars, City News Service reported.

A bungling IT worker was left red-faced after he accidentally beamed a banned pornographic film onto a giant TV screen at a train station in China. Commuters looked on in shock as the XXX-rated movie - The Forbidden Legend: Sex and Chopsticks - played for 10 MINUTES.
The engineer had been called to fix a fault with the screen and hooked up his laptop to make the necessary repairs. After the work had been completed he loaded up the erotic movie forgetting his laptop was still supplying the live feed to the TV screen. He only realised his mistake when his angry bosses called him after receiving complaints. Police are now said to be investigating the incident.
