By the time they landed at Narita International Airport, however, a baby girl had already been born. ““I couldn’t imagine. This happened completely unexpectedly,” the unnamed father told press in Japan, as reported by the Japanese Times. “It turned out to be a beautiful baby girl.”

According to said spokesperson, the new mom was admitted to the hospital where she stayed overnight, but both her and her daughter were doing perfectly fine. Although there aren't any reports as to how far along the woman was, it's Air Canada policy to allow woman up to and including their 36th week of pregnancy to travel.

Man tries to sell kidney, gets community service

A man in the Netherlands who tried selling one of his kidneys on a site similar to Craigslist had his case dismissed on Friday. The judge said the 40-year-old should do 60 hours community service for advertising his kidney for nearly $68,000 on Marktplaats, the Dutch website Nos reports.The man’s lawyer claimed he had only been interested in finding out what sort of reaction he would get.Well, Marktplaats noticed the odd item for sale and promptly notified the cops.The judge said he believed the man, ruling that advertising the sale of a kidney does not prove one actually planned to sell it.The sale of organs is banned in the Netherlands.

Joey and Chad Mudd (seen at right) are facing multiple felony child abuse charges, court records show. The children were provided the pot, investigators say, in the family’s home in Largo, a city 20 miles from Tampa Bay.Chad Mudd, 36, has also been charged with providing the girls with cocaine, which he allegedly snorted with them earlier this year while the trio was inside his truck. According to arrest affidavits, Joey Mudd, 34, admitted to smoking pot with her children on five occasions, and referred to the provision of the drug “as a form of a ‘bargaining tool.’”Charged with two counts of child abuse, Mudd was released from the Pinellas County jail early this morning after posting $5000 bond. Woman fights legal battle to get pregnant with her own grandchild

LONDON, May 8 (UPI) -- A U.S. woman is waging a court battle to gain custody of her late daughter's eggs from Britain so she can become pregnant with her own grandchild. The 59-year-old woman, identified only as Mrs. M, is asking Justice Duncan Ouseley to overturn a 2014 ruling from the British Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority's statutory approvals committee, which last year refused to allow the woman to have her daughter's eggs taken out of storage. Mrs. M's daughter had her eggs frozen at IVF Hammersmith in London after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2008, but the HFEA said she did not fill out a document detailing her wishes for the eggs prior to her death in 2011. The High Court heard the mother is seeking to have the eggs shipped to New York, where a fertility clinic has agreed to help her have the eggs fertilized by a sperm donor and implanted in her womb. The court heard Mrs. M and her husband requested anonymity to protect the privacy of "an as yet unborn child." The couple said their daughter would be "devastated" to learn her eggs could not be used. "I have never heard of a surrogacy case involving a mother and her dead daughter's eggs," said fertility expert Dr. Mohammed Taranissi of the ARGC clinic in London. "It's fair to say that this may be a world first."

A 70-year-old woman had four pounds of cocaine stashed in her girdles and underwear, according to federal agents who found the stash during a pat down at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Olive Fowler, a Guyana resident, arrived at JFK last Sunday on a Caribbean Airlines flight from Georgetown, Guyana. Traveling on a non-immigrant visitor’s visa, Fowler was selected for an examination by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, according to a criminal complaint.

While agents examined her baggage, Fowler “was sweating profusely and avoiding eye contact with the officers,” an investigator reported. Suspicious agents then opted to peform a pat down search of Fowler.“CBP officers...felt a dense, hard material under the defendant’s clothes in the area of the defendant’s groin and buttocks,” the complaint notes. As it turned out, Fowler was wearing two pairs of compression shorts over her underwear, garments that held nearly two kilos of cocaine (which has a street value in excess of $73,000). The accused septuagenarian smuggler was then arrested on a felony narcotics charge. Locked up in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, Fowler is scheduled for an April 27 preliminary hearing in U.S. District Court. As seen above, CBP officials released evidence photos showing Fowler’s assorted undergarments, including a shot of one girdle that was cut open to reveal the cocaine hidden inside. While the brand of Fowler’s compression garments is unknown, that should not keep anyone from referring to her forthwith as the “Spanx Smuggler.”

The owners of a proposed sex club in Nashville, Tenn., have apparently found a higher calling as newly-ordained ministers with plans to open under the guise of a church. After city officials prevented the swingers' club from opening, the owners applied to open a place of worship at the same building, with a very similar layout. That plan was approved, according to WKRN-TV. Floorplans for the once-proposed adults-only business, The Social Club, show the plans didn't change other than names given to rooms -- the "dungeon" was renamed a "choir room" and the "dance floor" became a "sanctuary," according to documents received by the city. City councillors rezoned the area, prohibiting the club from opening as it is located next to a Christian school.

LONDON, Ont. — Roy Nevill's not dead — he's guilty. Midway through his first fraud trial this week, Nevill, 55, who has reportedly faked his own demise at least four times, pleaded guilty to swindling a London woman of $875. The woman, who brought her story to QMI Agency in February, gave detailed testimony about her relationship with the man she met on Plenty of Fish and knew as Roy Anderson who needed cash after losing his wallet. He'd drive her to the bank and made promises to pay her back triple the amount. In November, the day he was supposed to pay back the $875 owed, she received a text message that he had died in the shower. There was no death notice in the newspaper and no word from the family — especially after the woman fibbed and told them she had the licence plate number and was going to the "fraud squad." "I didn't want to think anybody would scam anybody for $875," she testified. Not long later, Nevill was arrested in St. Thomas, Ont., after a driver walked away from a head-on crash in Aylmer, Ont., in January. After the woman finished her testimony, the defence didn't cross-examine her. Instead, Nevill pleaded guilty. He's to be sentenced May 12.

The bag--not unlike those seen in the hands of crooks in comics and cartoons--was tied to the front of Lingafelter’s pants when police nabbed the 20-year-old shortly after the sandwich shop heist. Police allege that Lingafelter entered the Subway wearing a white hat and a red bandana over his face, adding that he “reached into his pocket as if he had a weapon.” After directing a female employee to open the cash register and place her hands on her head, Lingafelter swiped $100 and the worker’s cell phone. While committing the robbery, Lingafelter warned the Subway employee not to “do anything funny,” police reported.

A judge ordered a Montreal mechanic to pay his ex-girlfriend $32,000 in damages for secretly taping them having sex, Le Soleil reports. His new girlfriend was intrigued about the videos but made it very clear he was never to film them having sex. He agreed. Thieves stole 38 pythons

LONDON - British police said on Monday they were hunting for thieves who broke into an apartment in northwest England and stole 38 Royal Python snakes. The non-venomous snakes, which included eight pregnant females, were taken from a house in St



Helens last week, police added. Two men were spotted leaving the scene carrying two sacks. "This is a large collection of snakes that the victim had been gathering for a while," said Det. Con. Neil Henry of Merseyside Police. According to a website for Royal Python keepers, www.theroyalpython.co.uk, the snakes grow to an average length of 4-5 feet (1.2-1.5 metres) and make great pets, as they have good temperaments and are easy to tame. Police said the snakes were "extremely unlikely to pose any threat to the public".

According to cops, Alfred Joseph Guercio, 54, last Wednesday night forced his way into a neighboring residence in Burnsville, a city about 15 miles south of Minneapolis. Before bum-rushing the home, Guercio argued at the front door with a female resident “about the knife set,” according to a probable cause statement. Guercio, cops noted, was upset that the woman “did not appreciate the knife set and wanted it back. “After telling Guercio that she would retrieve the knives, the woman tried to close her door. Guercio, however, placed his foot in the door, rebuffing her several attempts to shut it. Guercio then allegedly pushed his way into the house, shoved the woman, and swiped the knife set.

OTTAWA -- Elena Komleva is not looking to be a stranger's baby momma. The 23-year-old University of Ottawa communications student and aspiring model claims she's received thousands of messages from men around the world after international media reported on a a Russian woman's "contest" looking for a man to get her pregnant. The 29-year-old woman in the ad and Komleva have the same name but she told QMI Agency Wednesday it's not her who posted it, which according to U.K.'s Mail Online, first appeared on Vkontakte, the Russian equivalent of Facebook. The ad is no longer available online, apart from screen-shots on various news sites which show its text -- "On the eve of my 29th birthday I announce a contest named 'Leave your trace inside me'. My mother needs grandchildren to give them all the baby clothes she has been collecting. But nobody wants to marry me yet. So, if you are young, strong and healthy drop me a line."

Komleva, the one here in Ottawa, says she first discovered the mix-up accidentally. She had just posted a video to her new YouTube account discussing hair highlights when the followers and views took off like a rocket. “I thought -- wow, YouTube is great," she said. "Then I got a message saying the person would like to get me pregnant. “There were 3,000 such messages, she said, prompting Komleva to Google her name. She was shocked and a little intrigued by the results. There were dozens of stories, many using photos of her. Komleva said this seems to be because she has a much more prolific social media presence than the wannabe Russian momma
