detained at Seattle-Tacoma Airport.  Passengers on Flight 3677 to Denver said they were waiting to depart Thursday when they noticed someone on the plane had named their WiFi hotspot "Southwest - Bomb on Board." The WiFi hotspot's name was changed to "Bomb Location 19E" before changing to "something about the stewardess being hot," passenger Ken Saldi told ABC News. "We realized he was probably just goofing off," Saldi said.
However, airport security was not willing to take that chance and the man behind the network names was detained. Passengers said they were taken off the plane for a time and their bags were re-screened before the flight was able to continue to Denver. Southwest said the pilot made the decision to report the potential security threat. A Port of Seattle representative told KIRO-TV, Seattle, the man was still in custody Thursday evening. His identity and possible charges against him were not released.

PETERBOROUGH - Drivers doing the right thing are being rewarded thanks to a partnership between city police and local businesses who have joined forced to combat distracted driving. The campaign, which began last Thursday, provides positive reinforcement in the form of a coupon for a free buffet lunch valid at Pizza Hut locations in Peterborough and Lindsay and education via two information booklets focusing on the dangers of using a phone while driving.
Const. John MacLeod, who has already pulled over six drivers as of Wednesday for doing good things such as pulling over to talk on their phone or text, said its been fun to hear their comments as they at first believe they have done something wrong. “When I give them the package, they are dumbfounded. They can't believe it,” he said during a media launch at Pizza Hut on Lansdowne St. W. Traffic Sgt. Jeff Chartier noted that a vehicle travelling 100 km/h covers the length of a football field in two seconds, the time someone may spend looking down at their phone. “That's a significant distance,” he said, calling injuries “inevitable” in a collision at that speed. Distracted driving involves visual, manual and mental components, Chartier said. “Texting and driving involves all three of those distractions...we hope this will have a positive impact on road safety.”Since January, the traffic unit has conducted 22 details such as speed and seatbelt enforcement, during which 703 Provincial Offence Notices were issued. Of those, some 27% were for distracted drivers using their cell phones.

It’s hard for parents to shelter their children from the evils of today’s world, and now even innocent gummy candies aren’t safe. Parents in New Zealand are outraged after several children returned home with penis-shaped gummies and even gummy bears with penises.
The crude candy was purchased at shops in the lower part of New Zealand’s South Island, which were stocked with 7,200 bags of “Dragon Sweets” from China.Willem Van de Geest of the Stoke confectionary company, one of the shops that accidentally ordered thousands of bags of the bold gummies, apologized for the unfortunate mistake. “You have to look at it two or three times to think that doesn’t look right,” Van de Geest told the New Zealand Herald. He called the candies a “one-off” and said thousands of bags were recalled and dumped out.“It won’t happen again,” he ensured.

An international student studying English in New Zealand threatened to release a sex tape involving his ex-girlfriend unless she gave him about $1,250 and cleaned his apartment. Feng Xiao, 21, met the girl at an Auckland school and they started dating in June 2013, the New Zealand Herald reported Friday. Recently released court documents showed during their relationship, the woman alleged Xiao was abusive. When they broke up in December, the 20-year-old woman said he demanded she pay for a large phone bill for calls he had made overseas. When she refused, he asked for the money and told her she had to clean his apartment or else he'd upload a tape of her performing a sex act on him. While the woman admitted she knew about the tape, she said she never gave her ex permission to put it online. Xiao pleaded guilty to three counts of assault and one count of blackmail. He will be sentenced Monday
