Freed from prison, man robs same NJ store 14 years later
A man faces a return to prison for robbing the same New Jersey shoe store - and the same clerk - that he held up 14 years earlier, authorities said. Christopher Miller, 41, pleaded guilty to robbing the shoe store in Toms River in March 2014, one day after his release from prison where he had been sent for robbing the same store in 1999, Ocean County, New Jersey prosecutors said. In the more recent robbery, a clerk who had worked at the store during the first robbery recognized Miller as the same culprit, prosecutors said.
The clerk had been notified of Miller's release on parole, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. "She looks up and there he is," Della Fave said. Police said the bandit demanded money and cell phones from employees, forced them into a back room and fled with $389 cash. Miller pleaded guilty on Monday to second-degree robbery in Ocean County Superior Court and faces the possibility of 10 to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 15, prosecutors said.

Why Topless nun billboard ahead of pope visit
NAPLES, Italy, March 11 (UPI) -- An Italian company said no blasphemy was intended by erecting a Naples billboard featuring a topless model dressed as a nun ahead of a planned papal visit. Clothing company Rosso di Sera came under fire from Naples natives when it erected a billboard recently featuring a topless model wearing a nun's habit and holding a rosary. The model's breasts are covered by her arms. Some have accused the company of blasphemy ahead of a planned March 21 visit to Naples by Pope Francis. The company released a statement saying the billboard had been planned long before the pope's visit was announced.
"We recognize that we have made a strong marketing choice but there was no intent to blaspheme," the statement said. "Trivializing the act of prayer was not the intention in any way." The statement said the company "strongly regrets being accused of things extremely far from our values and our culture."
Why Politician poses nude for campaign poster
PORTUGALETE, Spain, March 10 (UPI) -- A candidate for local office in Spain's Basque region is campaigning by baring her body on a poster reading, "Politicians have left us stark naked." Yolanda Couceiro Morin, a town hall candidate in the town of Portugalete, released a campaign poster featuring her nude body covered only by her own hands and the slogan, "Politicians have left us stark naked." Morin, a member of the right-wing Partido por la Libertad - Manos Limpias, or "Party for Freedom - Clean Hands," told Spanish daily 20 minutos she hopes the "eye catching" ad will convince Portugalete voters to "focus on the problems of their neighbors." Morin's poster appears to take inspiration from a 2006 poster for centrist party Ciudadanos, which depicted party founder Albert Rivera striking a similar pose in the buff.
