Why Insurance Company has to pay for grow-op fire?
MONTREAL — An insurance company is liable for damages after an apartment was gutted in a fire caused by a marijuana grow-op. A judge ruled the building owner had no idea his tenant was growing pot. Desjardins insurance was ordered to pay $70,000 after
fire destroyed two of the owner's four buildings in 2007. A transformer that powered up lights for the grow-op touched the floor, igniting the fire. Desjardins refused to pay the bill, and the owner went to court for rebuilding costs. Judge Robert Mongeon struck down a clause of the insurance contract that says Desjardins isn't liable for damages caused by a tenant's illegal activity. "This (clause) would require that the applicant visit 32 units in four buildings every day ...to maintain insurance coverage," the judge wrote. "Such a clause is unfair and unenforceable.

Gardeners celebrate naked planting day
SEATTLE, May 5 (UPI) -- Gardeners from around the country took off their clothes and planted flowers to celebrate the 10th annual World Naked Gardening Day, organizers said. Mark Storey, 54, started the event with his friends after asking respondents in a poll what they enjoy doing naked, the New York Daily News reported. Swimming was the No. 1 response, but gardening came in at No. 2. So Storey, of Seattle, decided to set aside May 4 to encourage people to exercise and connect with nature while naked, he said. "The gardening-naked connection is pretty natural," he said. "There's not much body acceptance around, so the idea is to get people to try it. Maybe they will realize that the human body is OK, and also beautify the Earth a little bit." There wasn't a large gathering for the event, which was held Saturday. Instead, gardeners celebrate it all over the country in their own way, the Daily News said. "It could be a little old lady in downtown Chicago with a potted plant, or a group raking leaves at a nudist club," he said.

Street given racy new name with mistake in sign
WELLINGTON, New Zealand, May 5 (UPI) -- Officials in Wellington, New Zealand, said they mistakenly replaced a street sign for Torless Terrace with one that read Topless Terrace. City workers replaced the old street sign Friday after it had come loose, resident Deborah Bowler said she observed.
She soon realized the street had a new. “At first I thought, it's only been up for a day and someone has messed with it already. But on closer inspection I realised that's the real deal," she said. Council spokesman Richard MacLean said the previous street sign was often vandalized to say "Topless Terrace" by people "with a ladder and a bit of white tape or paint." This time it appears to be a spellcheck mistake, Wellington's The Dominion Post reported Sunday. "The council's usually managed to avoid the temptation. Now we are abreast of the situation we'll do a bit of an investigation and get things fixed to protect the honor of the good people of the lane," MacLean said. "We don't want it turning into a tourist attraction or to be overrun by tittering schoolboys."

VIDEO of Flatulent fan interrupts snooker match
ON THE list of worst possible places for a flatulence problem to rear its head, the silent reverence of a world championship snooker match is definitely up there. Judd Trump was a picture of concentration as he lined up another shot during his semi-final against
Ronnie O'Sullivan. Until someone broke wind. Trump couldn't stifle a laugh and had to regather himself before the referee called for order so play could continue.
