marriage found himself the target of jokes after a Tweet was mistakenly sent in his name that read "Marriage=One Man & One Man." The office of State Senator Dan Patrick quickly deleted the Tweet, sent a new one that read "Marriage is between one man and one woman. Period," and jokingly said the lawmaker was looking for a new director of social media. But the damage has been done and a fresh Twitter hashtag "#PatrickTwitterTypos" spawned, with users of the service inserting errors into well-worn political clichés.Some included "Texans deserve lower taxis" and "I'm pro-life jacket and I boat. “Patrick sent his initial Tweet shortly after a federal court judge on Wednesday ruled that the Texas ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional.
Who finds $10 million in buried treasure while walking dog
LOS ANGELES - A trove of rare Gold Rush-era coins unearthed in California last year by a couple as they walked their dog may be the greatest buried treasure ever found in the United States, worth more than $10 million, a currency firm representing the pair said on Tuesday.The 1,400 gold pieces, dating to the mid- to late 1800s and still in nearly mint condition, were discovered buried in eight decaying metal cans on the couple's land last April, said coin expert David McCarthy of currency firm Kagin's.
"We've seen shipwrecks in the past where thousands of gold coins were found in very high grade, but a buried treasure of this sort is unheard of," McCarthy said. "I've never seen this face value in North America and you never see coins in the condition we have here." Kagin's has declined to identify the couple, who according to the firm want to remain anonymous for fear treasure hunters will descend on their property in Northern California's so-called Gold Country, named after the state's 1849 Gold Rush.
Horny 911 caller seeks sex from Florida officer
A Florida woman was arrested after calling 911 last Friday and allegedly asking the responding officer to have sex with her. "You are so sexy," a drunken Maria Montanez-Colon told officer Justin Davoult, the police report says. The report was posted on the website TheSmokingGun.com. She had called 911 about her Corvette, which she told Davoult she had given to her stepson. She said she wanted it back and Davoult told her to call a lawyer, the report says.
While they were talking, Davoult said Montanez-Colon allegedly told him, "I haven't been penetrated in years" and "I am so horny."He told Montanez-Colon not to misuse 911, then left.
Montanez-Colon called 911 again and requested to see another officer. Davoult returned to the home with another officer and asked her if she remembered him telling her not to misuse 911."She stated, 'I do, but how else am I going to get you to f--- me?'" Davoult wrote.She was arrested for making false 911 calls.
Teacher charged with masturbating in school hallway
STAMFORD , Conn., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- An elderly substitute teacher was arrested at Westhill High School in Stamford, Conn., on Wednesday after one of his colleagues allegedly discovered him masturbating in a school hallway around 7:30 a.m. A female paraprofessional educator stumbled upon Michael Luecke on the ground and went to assist him. Upon closer inspection, she observed the 72-year-old with his hand "in his pants manipulating his penis.” After she alerted school officials about his behavior, Luecke was detained by school resource officers. He was later arrested and charged with public indecency, second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.
Video surveillance was found showing Luecke…in a corner of a stairwell in the Rayner building suspiciously manipulating the front of his pants while looking at students in the courtyard," police told the Norwalk Daily Voice. The video shows six students walk by Luecke while he was masturbating. According to police, they may need counseling. Luecke apparently had an excuse for his actions.
Couple refuses to pay after Sex Session in Rear of Cab
Perhaps they thought the performance was payment enough. An Illinois cab driver recently called police to complain that a couple who had just finished having sex in the rear of his cab were refusing to pay the $83 fare. Hack Faisal Kokazeh, 28, told Orland Park Police Department officers that passengers Andrew Vukovich and Stefanie Herringer claimed they were unable to pay him at the conclusion of a recent 3:30 AM ride. Kokazeh noted that he “witnessed both Andrew and Stefanie perform intercourse in the back of the van,” and “simply wanted both of them out of the taxi, and the fare paid,” according to a police report.
Vukovich and Herringer, an officer reported, smelled of booze and “were producing incoherent sentences, attempting to gather clothing that was strewn throughout the taxi.” And neither of them “had a purse or wallet on their person.” The couple, who had been driven by Kokazeh to Vukovich’s home, avoided arrest when Vukovich, seen above, “was able to obtain his mother’s credit card” to pay for the fare. Vukovich and Herringer had been partying at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill prior to entering Kokazeh’s 2010 minivan.
