The announcement Monday came after an investigation of the incident by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board began. The unidentified captain of the flight is a 14-year Southwest employee, and the first officer has been with Southwest for 12 years, the company said. Flight 4013 from Chicago, with 124 passengers aboard, was to arrive at the Branson, Mo., and airport Sunday evening, but instead landed in Hollister, Mo., an airport seven miles away and with a runway about half the length of the runway in Branson, the Kansas City Star reported. Officials said the plane stopped 300 feet from the end of the Hollister runway, which overlooks a ledge, a steep embankment and an interstate highway.

Top 4-Restaurant serves up python pizza

Top 5 Trending Weird, Funny and sizzling news of this week
Here's a pizza topping we never expected to see offered. We understand that smoked reindeer is a favourite topping in Finland but python? Evan's Neighborhood Pizza in southwest Florida is offering customers a pie that includes a topping of fresh python. According to WPXI, The restaurant's "Everglades" pizza contains just about every living creature you'd find in the Sunshine State's swamps: frog, alligator and swamp cabbage. Owner Evan Daniell told the New York Daily News the unusual topping has been surprisingly popular. “We're selling them left and right. It's a happy accident; it's about being creative.
A medium 14-inch Everglades pie goes for $45, and that's because python meat can cost about $66 per pound. The station says Daniell has considered creating a "road kill" pizza, which would include raccoon, armadillo and possum but has had trouble finding a supplier for the specialty meats. Or customers, perhaps?

Top 3-A man giving house away on kijiji

Top 5 Trending Weird, Funny and sizzling news of this week

CALGARY — Home is where the heart is -- and Jason Hastie says he just doesn’t have the heart to tear his down. The Calgary bungalow has to go: a growing family and lack of space and amenities in the 62-year-old house means Hastie, his wife and four-month-old daughter are planning to build a new on the residential lot. And so, not wanting to see the handsome 1,200 sq.-ft. house carted off to the dump, Hastie has posted his home on kijiji.ca, offering it to anyone in need of new digs -- and he’s throwing in $1,000 to help move the building to a new property. This house has been my home for the past 10 years and I have done many renovations to it. The LAST thing I want to see is for this to be torn down. It is an awesome house and would make a great home for anyone in need,” reads the ad. “Even if you don’t need a house, but know someone in need (perhaps someone who has lost their house in the floods this past summer), please contact us as well.
Dirt cheap houses aren’t a new thing, and plenty of people offer their homes for a pittance, hoping to defray demolition costs that can run between $10,000 to $30,000, depending upon factors like asbestos. But a look at such giveaway properties on sites like realtor.ca shows such homes are generally rough shanties, in desperate need of renovation. The bungalow belonging to Hastie, on the other hand, appears show-home immaculate, with renovations like a jetted tub and modern kitchen with an island and skylight.

KARLSHAMN, Sweden, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Swedish police said a disagreement about how a man should pay for his taxi ride ended with cabbie driving off with the man's kebab meal. Police said the man was driven Friday from Karlshamn to Morrum and when he arrived at his destination he discovered he was not carrying any cash, TheLocal.se reported Tuesday. The customer asked the driver if he could go home and get his debit card and the driver said he wanted to keep the man's kebab meal as collateral, police said. The man attempted to negotiate further, but the driver eventually drove off with the man's food. Police said the man initially reported the driver for theft, but changed his mind and dropped the charges, saying he understood the cabbie's actions.

Top 1-Man had an erection that lasted seven weeks

Top 5 Trending Weird, Funny and sizzling news of this week
Oh man, that had to be hard to deal with. An Irish competitive mountain biker had an erection that lasted seven weeks after he fell on the crossbar, doctors reported in a case study published in January's Irish Medical Journal. The 22-year-old man went to see doctors at a Dublin hospital after suffering with priapism - the prolonged unwanted erection for more than four hours without there being sexual stimulation - for five weeks. The man had perineal pain, swelling and bruising along with the rigid erection. "Manual compression" relieved the man of his symptoms, but the blood quickly returned to the penis. It took two weeks, but urologists were able to relieve the man of his constant erection and he did not suffer any side effects after he was healed.
