Top 5-Florida group offers free shotguns and says it finds takers

ORLANDO, Fla.  - Hundreds of Florida residents accepted an offer this week for a free shotgun, according to the director of the Florida branch of the Texas-based Armed Citizens Project. A website for the group, which offered one free shotgun per household,

said the project hopes to create “gun rich” zones in moderate to high crime areas in the United States to analyze what happens to the crime rate when a neighborhood is saturated with guns. But Ron Ritter, director of the Florida branch, said guns would be distributed to all comers instead of being concentrated in a defined location. He said the group expects to begin distributing shotguns “in the next 10 days.”
The group flooded a quiet Orlando neighborhood on Sunday with fliers about the free shotguns and ammunition to homeowners who pass a background check and take a firearms course. Geovany  Sinche, 40, a hotel maintenance worker who lives in the Sunshine Gardens neighborhood, said he was surprised to receive the offer since, he said, crime is not a significant problem there.

Top 4-Pilots fall asleep on long-haul flight to U.K.

Two pilots on a British airliner on a long haul flight fell asleep in the cockpit, leaving the packed jet travelling unsupervised on autopilot, Britain's Sun newspaper reported on Thursday. One of the pilots on board the Airbus 330 flight to Britain - the name of the airline was not disclosed - eventually woke up and roused his colleague, but neither knew how long they had been asleep, the paper said. The flight took off on Aug. 13 and the pilot and co-pilot took turns to have 20-minute rests but, after flying for more than an hour, they both dropped off. They reported the incident themselves to Britain's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), blaming longer shifts during the summer holiday period. The Sun said it had seen a copy of their report. The CAA said it was legally prevented from disclosing any details about companies or individuals who filed Mandatory Occurrence Reports to them

Top 3-Traffic barriers look like male organs

SCOTT, Pa., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Residents of a Pennsylvania city said newly installed concrete traffic deflectors have earned a street a colorful nickname, "Penis Road."

Scott residents said the posts, called bollards, were installed on two streets in the Glendale section of Scott and the shape of the objects -- elongated shafts with rounded tops -- resemble male sex organs, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday. "People are laughing at it. They're calling it Penis Road," resident Pat Martin told officials at a Tuesday meeting of the township commissioners. Scott Manager Denise Fitzgerald said the state Department of Transportation approved the bollards. Commissioner Bill Wells suggested flattening the tops of the bollards. "I think it would improve the appearance," he said. Fitzgerald said she would look into the potential cost of such work.

Raeford, N.C. woman was arrested Monday on charges of having sex with dogs while her husband, a soldier stationed at Fort Bragg, filmed them. The couple later posted the video on the Internet, police said. Ruben Chance James Fox and his wife, Amber Nicole Fox, both 23, were due to make their first appearance in Hoke County Tuesday. The couple faces charges of bestiality, conspiracy and disseminating obscene materials. Amber Fox faces additional charges of soliciting a crime against nature. "Anything you can ever imagine a man and a woman doing to each other, she was having the dogs do," Raeford Police Chief Franklin Crumpler told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. The Humane Society tipped off the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia. They later contacted Raedford officials after linking the IP computer address to the couple, the chief explained. Police seized the couple's computer equipment from their home and placed their two mixed-breed dogs and three cats in a shelter. Spc. Ruben Fox is assigned to the Army's 82nd Airborne Division, outlets confirmed. Bail was set at $15,000 for each spouse.

Professor Filmed Student "Up skirt" Videos, Masturbating in public OK, and Gorilla to get therapy for sexist attitude

Here are top five weird and funny trending news of Sept 24, 2013

Hells Angel sues for privacy in jail

MONTREAL - A jailed Hells Angels biker whose intestines were paralyzed in a 1994 assassination attempt is suing Quebec for $390,000, unlimited bathroom access and a supply of prune juice. Serge Lebrasseur, 49, claims the shooting caused incontinence that forces him to manually remove his own stool and that his current jail conditions are "very humiliating and degrading." Lebrasseur, arrested in a 2009 anti-biker sweep, is awaiting trial for eight counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
He claims in court documents to be a victim of abuse and discrimination because jail guards won't let him deal with his incontinence in private. Lebrasseur, of Trois-Rivieres, Que., was shot in the lower back in the early days of the bloody 1990s biker war. He escaped with a paralyzed leg and intestines, causing incontinence "which requires manual removal of stool," the lawsuit filed in Quebec Superior Court says.

Rodents found in Virginia ice cream cone

VIRGINIA - U.S. authorities have seized ice-cream waffle cones from a food storage facility in Waynesboro, Virginia, after inspectors found widespread rodent and insect infestation on the premises. U.S. marshals seized the products after Food and Drug Administration inspectors determined that the company had not taken effective measures to protect food, equipment or surfaces from contamination. The company, Gourmet Provisions LLC, does business as Matt's Supreme Cones, the FDA said on Friday.

Authorities also seized products from Royal Cup Inc, which stores coffee service items in a separate area within the Gourmet Provisions warehouse. On a website showing bucolic scenes of windmills, Matt's Cones says it began its baking operations in Virginia in 1992, carrying on a family tradition started in 1929 in the Netherlands. "In our first American plant, and now in our larger, more modern plant in Waynesboro, Matt's combines Dutch tradition with the most modern equipment to bake tasteful quality products our customers demand," it says. The company advertises waffle cones, sugar cones, mini cones, wafers and cookies, offering the "largest pre-made waffle cone assortment in the industry." The mini waffle cones are "great" for ice cream shops, weddings, catered events and baby showers, it says, and shipping is free anywhere in the United States.

New York town finds 850 snakes in man's home

NEW YORK - Authorities in the New York town of Shirley found 850 snakes, including two illegal 6-foot-long (2-metre) Burmese pythons, in the home and garage of an animal control officer suspected of dealing in the reptiles, local media reported. Shirley and Suffolk County officers raided the home on Thursday, Newsday of Long Island reported, citing town officials and publishing a photo of officers holding the pythons. Suffolk County police referred all queries to the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), whose officers were not immediately available for comment. The suspect, an animal control officer in the neighbouring town of Brookhaven, was co-operating with investigators and faces multiple charges of owning the pythons and operating a business without a permit, Newsday said. The pythons will be sent to an animal sanctuary, Newsday said, citing Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA. What would happen to the other snakes remained unknown.

Gorilla to get therapy for sexist attitude

DALLAS - A gregarious male gorilla at the Dallas Zoo will be sent to South Carolina for therapy after he bit one female gorilla and sneered at others, zoo officials said on Monday. Patrick, a 430-pound Western lowland gorilla, will be moving to the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens in Columbia, South Carolina, where he will live the bachelor life in his own digs.
The South Carolina zoo is known for working with gorillas with behavior problems. Dallas Zoo officials said Patrick gets along fine with humans but not with other gorillas. They said they have tried repeatedly to socialize him with the other gorillas, particularly the females, in the hopes that he might get along and even breed. Instead, he bit one female and sneered and nipped at others. "It's not like we haven't tried, he's been here for 18 years" said Laurie Holloway, a spokeswoman for the Dallas Zoo. Patrick was more tolerant of other male gorillas but seemed only to engage with Jabari, who was shot to death by Dallas police after he escaped in 2004 and injured three people. Because of his cranky behavior, Patrick has been kept in his own habitat separate from the other gorillas. The Dallas Zoo needs to reclaim Patrick's space because it recently acquired two new males from the Calgary Zoo, including Zola, a break-dancing gorilla who stars in a video that has gone viral on the Internet.

Video shows couple enjoying freeway ride a little too much

CHICAGO, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- A Chicago-area man cautioned his passenger they were being too obvious as they rolled video on a couple apparently having sex while driving along an interstate. The video was posted briefly on YouTube Monday and features a woman in a minivan sitting on the lap of the driver and bouncing up and down as they traveled along the Eisenhower Expressway, which was not particularly bumpy. WBBM-AM, Chicago, said at one point the happy male motorist waved at the camera and continued on doing whatever it was he was doing. "You're making it a little obvious," the man who posted the video said to his own female passenger, who can be heard on the video replying, "No no no. No no. I want to get her bouncing again. She's just leaning on him now, and I want her bouncing."

The slice-of-life in the fast lane video lasted about a minute and was titled simply, "One day while driving east on I-290," WBBM said. It had been removed from the YouTube site by Tuesday.

Professor Filmed Student "Up skirt" Videos

SEPTEMBER 23--A college professor who used a camera pen to secretly film under the clothing of two students explained to police that he was attempting to gather evidence that one of the women “was not wearing undergarments,” which he thought was “inappropriate,” according to a police report. That explanation, however, did not keep cops from arresting Don Samuelson, 65, on a pair of felony video voyeurism counts.

Samuelson, who teaches at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, allegedly victimized the two students on four separate occasions this year.
One of the victims “became aware of the videotaping” as it occurred about three weeks ago, noted investigators in a University of Florida Police Department report. During a subsequent search of Samuelson’s office earlier this month, cops recovered the camera pen, which had an integrated USB thumb drive. In addition to the “upskirt” videos, the camera contained “several other videos of females working in Samuelson’s laboratory and/or meeting with him in his office,” police reported. The clips for which Samuelson has been charged showed, for example, “the gap” between one woman’s chest and the v-neck of her shirt and “upper/inner thighs normally concealed” by a victim’s dress. After being read his Miranda rights, Samuelson (seen at left) claimed that he was “attempting to gather proof” that one of the women “was not wearing undergarments” in class. When asked about the occasions during which he “directed the camera pen at students’ breasts,” Samuelson “acknowledged that this activity was ‘inappropriate.’”

Samuelson has been on administrative leave since his Gainesville office was searched by police. If convicted of the voyeurism charges, he faces a maximum of five years in prison on each felony count.

Wow-Masturbating in public OK (court ruling)

A Swedish court ruled this week that masturbating in public is OK if it’s not directed at anyone, local media report. The ruling came after a man was charged with sexual assault for masturbating on a beach June 6 at Drevviken beach, The Local reported. The 65-year-old man removed his shorts and started masturbating close to the water. The man was acquitted, and the ruling stated that it “may be proven that the man exposed himself and masturbated on this occasion,” but it wasn’t a crime because he wasn’t pleasuring himself towards a specific person.
“For this to be a criminal offence it’s required that the sexual molestation was directed towards one or more people. I think the court’s judgement is reasonable,” prosecutor Olof Vrethammar told a Swedish paper. “With that we can conclude that it is OK to masturbate on the beach. The act may be considered to be disorderly conduct.”
